- In America, 1 out of 5 males and 1 out of 3 females suffer some form of abuse by age 18.
- Number of reports of abuse and/or neglect for Blanco, Burnet and Llano counties in Texas increased 61% from 445 in 1997 to 718 in 2002. Numbers of child abuse cases continue to rise yearly.
- Travis County has the 2nd highest prevalence of child abuse and neglect in Texas: 1 out of every 104 children in Travis County are investigated, confirmed cases of child maltreatment.
- The average victim in Burnet County, Texas is white, female, below the age of 17, and was victimized as a result of sexual assault
